Runaway Print E-mail
writing corner- by Genevieve, 16, HRM

This little baby girl is not but a year old, so her dad chooses to abuse her. Not old enough to figure out why this world is so cold, asking the lord, why does this happen to me? Just a child, too young to figure out life, so her mind forgets. Too young to remember, but knowing that some things are not right.

She grows older, looks to sex as a way out of life, now she's a runaway girl.

Confused about life…

Counselors can’t help her…

She’s lost...

With nowhere to go, as she runs away to this little black hole. A place she calls home, no cooked meals or a comforting home, only a blanket, clothes and a teddy bear. All ears stop listening, no one stops to pay attention to actions. Her only choice is to run away. She keeps running, as she meets this girl named Neicie, they promised to be down till the end, then one day, it all stops.

Little Neicie … drop to the ground...she got knocked out because someone chose to beat her, now she's buried underground. The world is on this grown girl's shoulders. She falls in love, gets abused, as the relapse starts. She stands strong, holds her head up high, moves on with life and never goes back.

She’s no runaway now because there are so many girls just like her. She knows now, you never have to stand alone, through the good and bad. She’s no runway, for now she chooses to open her eyes and look around.

There’s another girl just like her, right by your side, someone who's been abused in some way, but you have to choose to open your eyes and see or forget and never go back.
