What happened was a true tragedy

A little too much of reality

Would it have been stopped if we held his hand

Or was this something no one could understand?

They mention the two lives that are ruined but there's so much more

What did he do this for?

Should we be mad for his mistake

Or should we relax and try to relax?

He was broken, lost in the dark

Could we have saved his beaten heart?

She was innocent, helpless and just a friend

Who didn't deserve such a rushed end

A friend and a son no longer around

A young girl lies lifeless beneath the ground

The day it happened, the moments grew long

And I cried for him, is that wrong?

Tears fell for a friend who had a heart ripped in two

Tears fell for all the pain he went through

Tears fell for two futures shattered in the night

Tears fell for the girl who lost the fight

Tears fell for the lives ruined in this awful mess

Tears fell for the family who has to lay her to rest

But most of my tears fell for what could've been done

Sometimes all it takes is a friend to save someone

No more blaming it happened, it's out of our hands

But this wasn't black and white that's what people don't understand
