Poetry Corner Love

By Jade L, 15 HRM

I love you - three simple words. We use them daily as if they

have no real meaning.

But what happens when you arrive in a relationship when those three simple words become so complicated?

You love the person so much… but you are not sure how much they love you back.

This is a feeling I am very familiar with. I feel for this special person so strongly, no one has

been able to break it. Although they try... and yeah, we have our arguments, but it's no more

then 25 seconds later that were both apologizing like crazy. I guess the subject of love needs

to be discussed more thoroughly.

See, the word LOVE is very strong and if you truly love someone, you will do almost anything

for them. Sure us kids and teens just run around shouting it out to our best friends, but

were only kidding.

Our parents think we don't understand the meaning of love, but I think they shouldn’t

underestimate us. Because we know what we feel and I believe that around the age of

14-15, we really can begin to understand the meaning of love. Of course that understanding

will grow deeper as we get older, but it’s at this age where we begin to find our "first loves,"

the ones we will never forget. I know I've found mine, but have you found yours yet?

I believe you shouldn't use those three simple yet very complicated words "I love you", unless

you seriously feel that strongly about someone. For if that certain person, or yourself, are

anything like me, you take those words straight to your heart… where they stay.

So be cautious with those three little words because once those words are turned against

you and you no longer feel love from the one who placed them there, those feelings can

shatter. It feels like needles piercing every inch of your heart and soul. Yes, some people

recover easily from it, but some people, like me, are easily destroyed by it.

When it comes to those three words all I really want to say is,

"mean what you say and say what you mean."
