Wolf in Teen's Clothing Print E-mail

wolf in teen clothingI went from feeling like I was on top of the world to having my dreams crushed and scattered like pebbles on a deserted beach. Today, another decision was dumped on top of my pile, along with the peer pressure, fears, and choices combined with the broken heart blues. There he stood across the hall waving me over with that long awaiting Colgate smile, the opportunity I'd been waiting for and could not resist...

Not only was he the cutest boy I'd ever seen in my life but he was the talk of the school. Every girl in my class wanted to hang around him. Every guy I knew wanted to hang out after school with him and teachers thought he was the next prime minister…when he became of age that is.

Surprise! Surprise! I thought my best friend talking about me behind my back was bad. This boy who everyone thought (especially me) was “all that” really showed his true colors. Today I spent what I thought would be my dream lunch with him, hanging out with the “popular crowd”, meeting all his friends…boy, was I surprised on how the other half lives!

We walked towards the school cafeteria for a bite to eat then everything went so wrong. I started to notice his eyebrows frown and his jaws tightening up as we entered the lunch room area where the grade 7 and 8's would eat. The air became so quite and breathless while the look on the younger teens' faces showed panic and fear. Some slowly raised their head to look at the door but quickly dropped their heads and would stare at their plates of uninviting cafeteria food. After entering the large room, walking like royalty, he started giving commands very silently and quickly like he was king…and what came next shocked and changed me forever…
